Research

I am a composer, PhD candidate and Associate Lecturer in music technology for non-music students working at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the University of Sydney. I have coordinated Units at the Conservatorium since 2020, and tutored across the Conservatorium, School of Architecture and Design and the Master of Museum and Heritage Studies.

My areas of creative specialisation are acousmatic and electroacoustic composition, as well as experimental sound design for podcasts and learning. My PhD research within the School of Chemistry explores the value and impact of sound-based learning tools for science communication and engagement. I advocate for accessibility, intersectionality, equity and inclusivity in the classroom. I am also interested in the impact of AI on creativity in musicians, and have recently published and presented on this topic across a variety of platforms.

Research areas:

Electroacoustic and acousmatic composition, spatial music, composing for fixed media, sound and music design for podcasts and radio, inclusivity in music technology classrooms, sound studies, science communication, modes of learning, public engagement.
